I've been using my iPhone Remote app for some time now with my computer & AppleTV - it's a superb app for picking songs, Genius playlists, albums, searching for songs etc, however, i've just stumbled across some great features of the iTunesDJ found under playlists tab on your iPhone Remote.
You can add songs, select a song (choose to 'play now' or 'play next') but it also ties in with Genius recommendations which can be added to the current playlist.
Now, on your computer select the iTunesDJ (playlist) and click the 'Settings...' button bottom right of iTunes, you can switch on guest request and voting.
This allows you to add songs to the playlist by searching on your iPhone, you can keep adding as many as you want, up and down as many artists, albums etc, click done and they're added to the bottom of the iTunesDJ playlist.
You can change the order of these by clicking 'Edit' at the top of the playlist (iPhone), or with voting 'on' a little heart appears on the right of each song, tap this, it goes red and moves to the top of your playlist - if you had a party others could vote, pick/request songs from your library.
With Remote Speakers and AirTunes on you can have different playlist playing in multiple rooms. Sweet.
